Summer Camp


EARLY Summer Camp operates Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 7:00pm beginning in June and ending in July. 

Summer Camp Schedule
7:00 am – 8:00 am Breakfast, Attendance, Socialization
8:15 am – 9:15 am Start Something/Digital Connectors curriculum
9:30 am – 10:30 am Recreation Activity (basketball, football, baseball or tennis)
10:45 am – 11:45 am Arts Activity (Dance, Theatre, Visual Arts or Music)
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Lunch
1:15 pm – 2:15 pm Start Something/Digital Connectors curriculum
2:30  pm – 3:30 pm Recreation Activity (basketball, football, baseball or tennis)
3:45 pm – 4:45 pm Arts Activity (Dance, Theatre, Visual Arts or Music)
5:00 pm – 6:00 pm Snack
6:15 pm – 7:00 pm Pack-up / Parent Pick-up
*Field trips are scheduled once a week and will replace programming from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm or later if necessary.

Anticipated impacts include:

  • Increased parental involvement
  • Improved school attendance
  • Improved academic performance
  • Increased level of tolerance (ethnic diversity)
  • Increased awareness and/or exposure to diverse artistic and recreational outlets
  • Increased interest in advanced education
  • Increased exposure to non-traditional careers (examples of non-traditional careers)
  • Decrease high school drop out rate of Atlanta urban youth
  • Decrease unemployment rate of Atlanta urban youth

Anticipated outcomes:

  • Twenty-five (25%) of parents will increase engagement with their child’s schools, as measured by increased number of visits with school personnel, increased number of parents who notify schools of children’s absences or academic issues and pre and post parental surveys
  • At the end of the school year, 25% of our participants will improve their school attendance, as measured by previous school year and current school year attendance records
  • At the end of the school year, 25% of our participants will improve their academic performance, as measured by report cards
  • At the end of the school year, 50% of our participants will summarize in writing their feelings about tolerance, as measured by pre and post surveys
  • At the end of the school year, 50% of our participants will demonstrate knowledge of various artistic and recreational outlets, as measured by pre and post surveys
  • At the end of the school year, 25% of our participants will compile relevant examples of institutions of advanced education, as measured by pre and post surveys
  • At the end of the school year, 50% of our participants will compile, compare and present a list of non-traditional careers, as measured by pre and post surveys (examples of non-traditional careers)
